This week has been full of eating appointments. So strange thing happened on Tuesday as we were walking to an appointment, there where lot of kids playing soccer by the apartment complex where we were going. As we walked by they all just stared at us and then one shouted "hail Hitler". Yup you can tell they are not German or Austrian.
Sometimes the trains are dumb here and run on weird schedules and if you miss it you have to wait for the next one. So can say have had that experience of trying to get home on time but you still we were late. The night before transfer day the Elders from Wiener Neustadt came up and stayed so there were 6 of us in the apartment that night. We helped them with their luggage.
It was interesting because as we were changing U-bahns a guy in a wheel chair started to talk to use and asked if I could help him get his wheel chair in and so I did and then one of the Elders from Wiener Neustadt and I were able to chat with him. There are great people in this world. On Thursday We moved everything from the basement back up to our apartment. So all the beds and some closets and such. It was some hard work.
On the train going there a lady asked if we worked for the UN...no I'm a missionary. 😀 We went to family Picard's home for dinner this week as well as help give the home teaching message since the husband is spending a lot of time in Ukraine due to his work with the conflicts there. It is great to see families in the gospel in their lives and try to teach their children riotous principles. At a different eating appointment there was a couple that reminded me of Aunt Lonna and Uncle Court. They are so similar! It was crazy! They were like twin that is how crazy it was! We finally moved back in on Saturday to our apartment on Silbergasse. And while transporting my suitcase with my cloths in it had a problem.😉 I was about to the apartment when the one wheel just magically fell off. Got to love suitcases on cobblestone and pavement. Good thing it was near the apartment!
It has started warming up here again. Church went by fast this week. There is a young man here for July visiting extended family that is from Jana's ward in Alpine, Utah. Monday was busy traveling. We had 2 appointments and they took the whole day. We had an eating appointment with the couple that reminds me of Aunt Lonna and Uncle Court. Most of the ward is from the Philippines. We had sardines in noodles and a tuna strudel. We had another eating appointment that evening where we had a lesson with Reynoldo and it was wonderful! On Tuesday we had Geminda rat and learned that the bishop is going to be moving back to England. He is a wonderful man.
We met with Reynoldo 4 times this week. He has so much faith and such a strong testimony. As we visited with him he said how he felt and he said that he feels complete. It just feels good to him. He has accepted the invitation to be baptized on July 25. Petra as well as a baptismal date for August 22. She is so great that people thought she was already a member of the church since she comes to church every Sunday and knows quite a lot. She has the love Philippians have. Luis has a baptism date for August 9. He found the church when he was a foreign exchange student in America. And last year when he came back he told the missionaries he wanted to be baptized. He was not 18 yet and so now he is going to be 18 soon he will be baptized. He is already doing missionary work to his friends and he is not even a member yet! Leo is still thinking about baptism. He is a fantastic person. 😀 this week the sun has been shining more and more each day! Bring the sunshine on! 😎
With all my love,
Elder Seth Bowers
